ISBN / Publishing Guidance

The paperwork side of publishing, sorted.

ISBNs, imprint setup, and copyright registration are administrative requirements that vary by country and platform, and getting them wrong can cause problems later — from distribution issues to lost control over a book's identifiers. This service explains what's required and helps authors handle it correctly the first time.

It's most useful for authors publishing for the first time, or publishing in a new territory or format, who aren't sure which registrations actually apply to them.

What Phoenix can help with

• ISBN guidance

Explaining what ISBNs are needed, when, and how to obtain them correctly.

• Imprint setup guidance

Guidance on registering or setting up a publishing imprint if relevant.

• Copyright registration guidance

Explaining copyright registration options relevant to your country and format.

• Platform requirement clarification

Clarifying which identifiers and registrations specific platforms require.

Useful if you're

• A first-time self-publishing author
• A writer confused about ISBN requirements across formats
• An author setting up a publishing imprint
• A writer publishing in a new country or platform for the first time
